Amendment

"The Constitution of the State of Oregon is amended as follows: It is the policy of Oregon, and its political subdivisions, that only a marriage between one man and one woman shall be valid or legally recognized as a marriage."
Oregon Constitution, Article XV, Section 5a.

Cases

Li v. State of Oregon (Oregon):  On December 15, 2004, Attorneys will argue before the Oregon Supreme Court in defense of Oregon's marriage amendment.  The court will decide whether the marriage licenses issued to same-sex couples earlier this year in Multnomah County were valid.
