Snetsinger v. Board of Regents,
Docket # 03-238 (Mont. Supr. Ct.)

The Montana chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed suit on behalf of a Montana special interest group and two lesbian employees of the Montana state university system. The lawsuit alleges that the university unconstitutionally discriminates against gay and lesbian employees in extending spousal benefits only to married couples. The trial court dismissed the case in November 2002.

The case is now pending on appeal before the Montana Supreme Court.
